Yellowstone Nominated for Best Show at MTV Movie and TV Awards
It's been a long time since I've actually watched the MTV Movie Awards - or actually, they're the MTV Movie and TV Awards now - but back in the day, man, it was appointment viewing. The awards themselves are basically a mainstream Oscars - the biggest blockbuster was usually the stuff that won. But the real reason to watch was always the movie parodies, where the host of the show would be inserted into a movie. They're all pretty dumb and don't always hold up, but I've got a lot of nostalgia for that late-90s to early 2000s era when you could rely on stuff like this pretty much every year.
There's no word as far as I can tell on who is hosting this year, but the 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards will be taking place on June 5th. And now, the nominations have just been announced - and Yellowstone, which of course filmed here in Montana for its last season and is set to do so again, is nominated in two categories!
The Hollywood Reporter has the full list of nominees, but Yellowstone got the nod for Best Show, and Kelly Reilly - who plays Beth Dutton - was nominated for Best Performance in a Show.
In the Best Show race, you've got Yellowstone facing off against Euphoria, Inventing Anna, Loki, Squid Game, and Ted Lasso. The Best Movie category features Dune, Scream, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Adam Project, and The Batman.
If you'd like to place your votes and help Yellowstone take home the award, you can do that right here.
