2nd Annual Semicolon Tattoo Day in Missoula
If you're not familiar with the meaning behind semicolon tats, they represent suicide awareness. Many who's lives have been changed by a suicide get the tattoo to commemorate somebody important to them. Others who have attempted suicide also have the semicolon tattoo. It's a form of solidarity between people dealing with mental illness, or death of someone from suicide.
According to Project Semicolon, this is the significance of the semicolon itself.
"A semicolon is used when an author could've chosen to end their sentence, but chose not to. The author is you and the sentence is your life."
American Made Tattoo will hold their 2nd annual Semicolon Tattoo Day event on Wednesday, May 24th with ALL proceeds going to Joey's Place, a.k.a., the Missoula Life Maintenance Center.
The suggested donation is $50 and it's first come, first served, no appointments will be taken. Corey, Jacie & Neko will begin taking customers at 11 a.m. and there will be 6 different designs to choose from.
Mikey Connell, who is Joey Connell's brother and founder of Joey's Place, will also be on hand with info about the center, the limited edition "night mayor" t-shirts, wristbands & stickers, with proceeds going to Joey's Place and the "Jack Pot," which is an ongoing fundraiser for Joey's son Jack.
We'll be there with new Blaze shirts too, hope to see you there!
