Missoula Police responded to a bad two vehicle accident on Phillips Street this morning March 28, which ended up damaging city infrastructure.

"The primary resting place of the two vehicles involved was at the intersection of Phillips Street and Burns," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "It appears that all occupants of the vehicles were taken to the hospital, but at this point it is unclear the extent of their injuries. It appears that the two vehicles were headed in opposite directions on Phillips and at some point there was a side-swipe collision."

The crash caused the intersection to be blocked off in all four directions.

"The damage is very heavy, so the impact appears to have been pretty significant," Welsh said. "As the impact occurred, at some point, a city light pole was sheared off at the base and was found laying on the boulevard there, near the crash scene. NorthWestern Energy was on the scene very quickly and they took care of the downed pole and also secured existing wires."

Homes didn't lose power because of the crash, however, the street lights went out for a while.
