Whoever said beer was just for humans was dead wrong, according to a recent story out of Baker Lake, Washington.

Washington Fish and Wildlife officials found a rather large animal conked out at a campsite on the lawn of a Baker Lake Resort, a story reads, and the reason for his alleged unconsciousness was left nearby.

Dozens of empty cans of Rainier Beer had numerous punctures in the cans after a bear apparently got into campers' coolers and used his teeth and claws to help himself to the cold brews.

"He drank the Rainier and wouldn’t drink the Busch beer," said Lisa Broxson, bookkeeper at the campground and cabins resort east of Mount Baker.

Interesting...Can a bear really tell a difference like humans might?

Fish and Wildlife enforcement Sgt. Bill Heinck said the bear did try one can of Busch, but ignored the rest. The story reports the bear then consumed about 36 cans of Rainier.

A wildlife official tried to chase the bear from the campground but the bear allegedly scaled a tree slept off his case of Rainier's for four hours. Agents finally herded the bear away, but it returned the next morning.

I guess I'd return too, if I had the opportunity to drink free beer...

Agents then used a large trap to capture it for relocation, baiting the trap with the usual: doughnuts, honey and, in this case, two open cans of Rainier...which seemed to do the trick.

"This is a new one on me," Heinck said. "I’ve known them to get into cans, but nothing like this. And it definitely had a preference."
