Okay...Save yourself the time of trying to think of an argument on how this proposal could never happen. You may not believe in Bigfoot, but there are a lot of people that do. There are also tons of folks that think the earth is flat, and aliens live among us. Before you leave the "who cares" comment in our Facebook feeds, know that there are people who do care. And, those people are actually proposing a legitimate hunting season for the mythical creature.

According to Fox News

Rep. Justin Humphrey (R) introduced House Bill 1648, urging the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission (OWCC) to establish a "big foot hunting season.".

YEAH! This guy is serious. Humphrey represents a portion of Oklahoma that has a large number of Bigfoot sightings. This area in South Eastern Oklahoma even hosts an annual Bigfoot festival. This is something that seems much more probable for a place like here in Montana or just about anywhere in the PNW.

At first glance it seems ridiculous, but my guess is that the bill is proposed as a possible way of creating more revenue from hunting permits and license fees. They are so serious about increasing revenue via these license fees that they are offering a $2.1 million dollar bounty on anyone who bags BIGFOOT.

My guess is that this is a genius marketing plan to attract out of state bigfoot hunters to pay the increased non-resident license fees. It is almost like Oklahoma is placing a bet that no one will actually bag a BIGFOOT. But, the possibility of a BIGFOOT gold rush could flood the state with revenue. Something that the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks should consider before they have to hold another bake sale to buy another game warden truck.

Big game hunting is already a multi-million dollar economic boost for Montana every year. Should Montana create a BIGFOOT season? If so, we could really rake in some dough.
