Iggy Pop Is Starring In a Silent Movie About Satan’s Guitar
We're just going to say this: Iggy Pop, Black Flag's Henry Rollins, Grace Jones and Eagles of Death Metal's Jesse Hughes are starring in a new silent movie about Satan’s guitar.
Gutterdämmerung is an upcoming film from Belgian-Swedish director Bjorn Tagemose, the tagline of which is “The loudest silent movie on Earth.” Iggy Pop plays punk-rock angel Vicious, Henry Rollins portrays a Puritan priest, and Grace Jones “controls the testosterone of the evil rock ‘n’ roll masses,” according to Pitchfork. Check out the film's launch video below.
More of the film's cast will be revealed in the next few weeks, over at the Gutterdämmerung website. The movie will also be scored by a live rock band, the members of whom are currently unknown.
Meanwhile, Eagles of Death Metal will begin a global tour in August that will run through to December, so check out their complete schedule at their website. We also spoke to Rollins late last year -- enjoy our exclusive interview here.
