Missoula Burglar Causes Over $70,000 Worth of Damage
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On February 2, 2026, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on patrol when he was dispatched to a report of a burglary that occurred around 1:59 AM at a storage facility in the 8700 block of Roller Coaster Rd. Upon his arrival, the deputy spoke with the manager, who told him that he already knew who had committed the burglary. He said he could see him on the camera and that tenants use an identifying code to enter after hours.
The manager told the deputy that Joshua Oulman had driven a white GMC pickup into their storage facility. He found the surveillance footage depicted some very distinct hand tattoos that can be seen on Oulman’s right hand. He also reported that the pickup truck has a blacked-out grill with the” GMC” emblem also being blacked out, versus the standard red emblem that is common.
Video depicts the pickup entering the facility and driving up to Oulman’s unit first before proceeding to get out the large bolt cutters. Then Oulman goes up to several units, cutting locks, and is observed pulling items from the units. Oulman is observed making several trips from the units to his pickup truck. The video then depicts Oulman going down a row of storage units that is not visible on surveillance video. However, several units down that aisle were found broken into with their locks cut as well. Oulman is then depicted exiting the storage facility at 2:40 AM.

On February 3, 2026, Oulman returned to the storage facility, and the owner asked if he had been at the property on the morning of the 2nd, and Oulman admitted to being at the storage units. The owner reported that he then informed Oulman that his business was terminated based on the video of Oulman going through and burglarizing the storage facility. The owner told the deputy that the call was inadvertently caught on the office camera, and Oulman can be heard confessing to being the one driving the pickup and being at the scene of the crime.
A short time later, a deputy located Oulman at a local motel. Oulman declined to answer any questions and was placed under arrest. While the deputy was transporting Oulman to the Missoula County Detention Facility, Oulman stated he didn’t steal anything. The deputy informed Oulman that he was clearly on video damaging property at the storage facility.
