Actor J.K. Simmons - recently seen reprising his iconic role as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: No Way Home - has been in the news around Missoula a lot lately. Which makes sense, considering his deep ties to the area (he graduated from the University of Montana in 1978, where his father was the School of Music director).

In recent months, he returned to Missoula to film an upcoming project directed by his wife, and voiced his support for the Griz to attempt to bring ESPN to town for Brawl of the Wild. Now, he and his brother David Simmons (also a UM grad) are working together to help out another Montana cause.

Will Montana Restore the North Coast Hiawatha Rail Line?

According to NBC Montana, several different organizations are currently working together to drum up support to restore the North Coast Hiawatha Rail Line, which has gone unused since 1979. The line connects Chicago to Portland and Seattle by running through southern Montana, and if restored, the Daily Montanan reports that it could generate up to $270 million per year.

To voice their support for the restoration and to help raise awareness, the Simmons brothers have released a new song called "All Aboard Montana" on the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority's YouTube channel. David provides lead vocals, guitars, and programming, while J.K. provides backup vocals.

Was this a lost song from the archives of Johnny Cash or something? It's got that old-fashioned country twang!

Although it does make you wonder what J.K. Simmons' character in Whiplash would think of the song. Think it was his tempo?
