Missoula Police Are Hiring and Promise to Pay Over $60 a Month
OKAY! You are scratching your head about how much the Missoula PD pays its employees. Before the comment thread gets filled with negative comments on low wages, know that $60 per month is what the first two officers in Missoula were paid back in 1883.
Back in 1883 that was some good money.
The Missoula Police Department has grown since it was founded on April 23rd,1883. Since then, we believe the wages have gone up substantially. Now, whether you might consider it "good money," depends on which officer or employee you talk to.
Recently, the Missoula Police Department shared a picture on their Facebook page. The picture features a document that was made using a typewriter (meaning it is was created when people still used typewriters.) It lists the conditions of employment with the police department, as well as the requirements to becoming a member of the department.
The Missoula Police Department is Hiring
The Missoula Police Department may not use typewriters anymore, and pay way more than $60. But, they are still handling thousands of calls every year and log hundreds of thousands of miles on their patrol cars. The force is currently at 53 sworn officers, but they are looking to add more. If you are interested in the chance to "protect and serve" the Missoula community, you must first pass the applicant eligibility test which consists of written and physical tests. These tests are only offered twice every year. But luckily there is a test coming soon. Your opportunity to become a Missoula Police Officer is nearly here.
Testing will be held on March 12, 2022
