Missoula Police Arrest Man For Felony DUI And Speeding 20 MPH Over The Limit
At around 1:45 Wednesday morning, Missoula Police pulled a man over for speeding near the 500 block of West Broadway. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers discovered another crime during the investigation.
“Officers stopped the vehicle for speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone and made contact with the driver, who is identified at this time as 47-year-old Shane Napier,” said Welsh. “The officer developed suspicions that resulted in a DUI investigation and subsequent to that, Napier was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol.”
According to Welsh, this is not the first time Napier has been pulled over for driving under the influence.
“He then discovered that Napier had previous convictions, making this a fourth or subsequent and that of course is a felony in the state of Montana,” Welsh said. “He is being held for DUI as well as the traffic offenses, which include an open container of alcohol in his vehicle.”
Napier was also charged for not wearing his seatbelt.
