We just can't win! We have a pandemic that forces us to stay home and we watch the price of gas drop because nobody is traveling. Now everybody is ready to hit the road for the first time in two years and gas is at an all-time high. And that's not me being overly dramatic, gas prices are officially the highest in state history. Traveling for Memorial Day weekend has me experiencing a minor panic attack just thinking about the cost of filling up multiple times on the journey.

Of course, let us not forget the reason for the holiday. We honor and pay respect to those that lost their life while serving their country. There are actually multiple ceremonies in Missoula that will honor veterans on Memorial Day and you can see details of each HERE.

The weekend is also used as the unofficial start of summer and it will find many people traveling. If you're looking to make last-minute plans and want to set out on a Montana adventure, maybe these ideas will help get your trip started. House Method put together a list of 150 getaways for Memorial Day weekend.

The three choices that made the list for Montana are Glacier National Park, Going to-the-Sun Road, and Bigfork Whitewater Festival. I'm not sure I've ever heard about the Whitewater Festival but it's in its 47th year so it must be doing something right.

Montana is a haven overflowing with natural scenery. Glacier National Park is a “showcase of melting glaciers, alpine meadows, carved valleys, and spectacular lakes” in the top corner of the state. The park is a perfect weekend getaway for those seeking some adventure and U.S. history.

It's kind of fun to read through some of the selections for other states. You can check out the complete list here. What else would you add to Montana's list of must-see getaways?

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
