There definitely seems to be a different buzz in the air when it comes to concerts this summer. Although some venues remained closed last year, many returned to hosting shows and it was a welcome sight. The 2021 concert season was a needed return after everything went dark in 2020 but it still felt like there was a weird vibe in the air. This year finally feels like things are back to normal with postponed shows actually taking place and most venues once again being open for business like they were pre-pandemic.

A sold-out weekend of music is one highlight of the summer

There's a big weekend of music on the calendar that has a lot of people in Montana ready to party this summer - the Under the Big Sky Festival takes place in Whitefish on July 14-17. It was one of the events that actually returned last year and it's ramping up for its third year after a 2019 debut. The three-day festival at Big Mountain Ranch is a whirlwind of activity with music on multiple stages, rodeo action, food, vendors, and more. Tickets for this year's festival are sold out but you might be able to find some with the official ticket exchange program by visiting the Under the Big Sky Festival website.

If you're a concert-goer you might not think about it but there's a lot that goes into making a three-day weekend music festival happen. Under the Big Sky is looking to fill positions for those that want to work during the event. They're holding a hiring fair on May 3, 4, & 5 for those that are interested. The good news is you'll be surrounded by music from the show while you work. Score!

Positions needed for the festival include:

  • Stagehands
  • Ticket Takers
  • Ushers
  • Guest Services
  • Parking Attendants
  • Bartenders
  • Culinary Workers
  • Production Assistants
  • Merchandise Seller
  • and more!

The hiring fair will be held at the ranch and positions will be filled on the spot. Positions can include working days before and after the festival. If you're interested you can get details and quickly apply HERE.
