One Man is in the Hospital After an Officer-Involved Shooting in Missoula
According to Missoula police, one man is injured after an officer-involved shooting in Missoula's westside neighborhood on Wednesday morning. At around 11:00, Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says officers were called to the Missoula's Hollywood Trailer Park for reports of man with a weapon.
When officers arrived, they were immediately met by a man who was very confrontational. Welsh says there was a dialogue between the man and police and then shots were fired. The man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and no officers were injured.

On Wednesday 1/15/2020 at approximately 10:30 AM Missoula Police Officers responded to the Hollywood Trailer Court in the 1700 block of Cooley St. for the report of a disturbance involving a firearm. The responding officers encountered an involved male outside of a residence who was uncooperative. The officers quickly discovered that he was in possession of a gun. The officers engaged in lengthy dialogue with the male and ordered him several times to drop his weapon. At one-point, shots were fired and the man was injured. The adult male was transported to the hospital by ambulance. No officers were injured during the encounter. Due to the involvement of MPD Officers, Interim Chief Mike Colyer has requested the assistance of the Montana Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation.
