Missoula police arrested a man near St. Patrick Hospital on Wednesday night, December 6. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

"About 10:15 p.m. officers responded to a report of a male that had broken out a window on west Broadway," Welsh said. "They responded and encountered the man and took him into custody. The learned from hospital security that the man had been acting irrationally outside of the hospital."

The 39-year-old is now facing a felony charge for the incident.

"The area where the damage occurred was near an outdoor patio where he may have retrieved a large rock to cause the damage," Welsh said. "The window was deemed very expensive to repair and as a result, Justin Carter was arrested for Felony Criminal Mischief."

Carter is also facing a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct. According to Welsh, the suspect was "yelling and screaming" before and during the window smashing.
