It seems like everyone needs a little boost these days. The amount of energy drink products keeps growing and growing. Plus, thee are now edible products that are supposed to give you small boosts of energy. Things like protein shakes enhanced with energy supplements. Super greens and powders. Even gummy bears enhanced with energy supplements. But, what about something that is not only packed with protein, but also involves the classic ingredient for an energy boost....coffee.

January and February are my favorite months for making meat snacks. Chances are you have meat in the freezer from a successful hunting season. The hustle and bustle of the holidays are behind us. And, it is too cold to spend all your time outside, like you would normally do other times of the year. hat is why I like a good Sunday Funday project like making jerky.

I recently stumbled across a recipe for jerky that involves using coffee as one of the ingredients. One of my favorite Facebook follows is a site called "Hey Grill, Hey!" Susie Bulloch hooks up amazing recipes that involve all the gadgets Montanans love to cook with. The smoker and the grill. Her recipe for Sweet Java Jerky is SUPER easy and SUPER good.

According to the Hey Grill Hey website, here is what you'll need.

2 pounds London Broil beef roast (sliced thin against the grain)

2 Tablespoons Morton TenderQuick
2 Tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons black pepper

Visit the Hey Grill Hey website for tips on how to correctly slice your jerky and step by step method on how to properly cook this recipe.
