Ever since we started our 'Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?' segments, viewers have been requesting an episode with Slipknot / Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor. Well, the man himself recently stopped by our studio to speak about his newest book, You're Making Me Hate You, and stuck around to give you the segment you've long been waiting for!

We've split the Corey Taylor edition of 'Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?' into two parts, and today we bring you Part 1. In this half, we focus on Corey's life before his success with both Slipknot and Stone Sour. Believe it or not, Wikipedia actually messed up Corey's name in the past and as of this posting, lists an incorrect nickname.

Beyond that, Corey delves into his childhood and his many moves across the country. The man behind the mask clears up a bunch of fiction, some of which is unbelievably skewed. He also goes deep into his past issues with drug use, detailing the troubling aftermath of an overdose at a very young age. Later in his life, Corey attempted suicide on more than one occasion. Luckily, the creative juggernaut is around to clear up some of the details on the incidents and describes how an experience shortly after his first attempt sparked his musical ambitions.

To watch Corey Taylor set the record straight about his childhood, introduction to rock music, meeting his father for the first time and much more, check out Part 1 of our 'Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction?' segment above! Enjoy! To grab a copy of You're Making Me Hate You, click here.
