The countdown to hunting season in Montana has started. I am getting more and more excited each day, as we inch closer to the September 6th opener for big game archery. I am, however, a little upset that I can't take my traditional Labor Day weekend hunting trip, as this years season starts a week later. One thing is for sure, it will give me more time to prepare for the hunt. For those familiar with big game hunting, the saying goes "the work starts when the animal is down." That is the truth. The hard work isn't harvesting the animal, it is taking proper care of the meat. The first step being the dreaded field dressing. If you are new to the sport, take my advice and don't do what the guy in the following video does. But also be aware that it happens tot the best of us.
