Free Beer & Hot Wings: Model Rocketry Club Converts Porta-Potty Into Rocket [Video]
Sometimes it's just cool to blow things up. And it's even cooler to launch things into space.
Some model rocketry club members from Michigan agree with that sentiment. They decided to do something a little more extreme than the traditional model rocket launch.
The Michiana Rocketry group converted an old Porta-Potty into a rocket, a nearly two-year effort.
Their hard work on the rocket-mounted 10-foot, 450 pound Porta-Potty came to fruition on Saturday when they launched that sucker into orbit in in Three Oaks, The St. Joseph Herald-Palladium reported.
Well, not really. It didn't quite reach orbit, but made an arc and almost nearly landed on one spectator's pickup truck about 2,000 feet away. That still seemed like a success.
