Garbage Announce New Album ‘Strange Little Birds,’ Reveal Tour Dates
Garbage have revealed the title and release date for their long-awaited sixth album. The band will release Strange Little Birds on June 10 via the band's STUNVOLUME label.
The Shirley Manson-fronted band (which, of course, includes mega-producer Butch Vig) self-produced the follow-up to 2012's Not Your Kind of People. Manson said in a press release that the band took an instinctive approach to songwriting for the album and that it was "less fussed over" than anything Garbage has recorded.
She also compared it to the band's self-titled 1995 debut. "To me, this record, funnily enough, has the most to do with the first record than any of the previous records," Manson said. "It's getting back to that beginner's headspace. In part, that's a result of not having anyone to answer to."

The band also announced they'll be performing throughout Europe this summer with more dates to be announced.
