Key and Peele’s ‘Keanu’ Gets Some Perfect Oscar-Ready Posters
One of our most anticipated films of the year is Keanu, the kidnapped kitten comedy from the brilliant minds of Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. And one of the most anticipated events of the year (for serious film fans) is the annual Academy Awards, which airs tomorrow night. What happens when you combine the adorable kitten from Keanu with some of this year’s nominees? It’s pretty darn cute.
If you aren’t following Key & Peele and Keanu director Peter Atencio on Twitter, then you’ve been missing out on some of the great photos he’s been posting, with the titular kitten photoshopped into some of 2015's best films. And just in time for tomorrow’s Oscars, Atencio reimagined posters for a few of this year’s Best Picture nominees, giving Keanu the prestige treatment:
The Martian / Keanu mash-up is definitely the best of the bunch, but they’re all charming, really. And who wouldn’t watch a two-and-a-half hour version of The Revenant with that little kitten in Leonardo DiCaprio’s role?
Keanu stars Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key as two pals who have to toughen up their image in order to infiltrate a street gang and retrieve their stolen kitten. The film also features Will Forte, Luis Guzman, Rob Huebel, Nia Long, Method Man and Straight Outta Compton’s Jason Mitchell, and hits theaters on April 29.
