The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 13 new criminal complaints this week. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, her office charged two new partner or family member assault cases.

“One was a violation of an order of protection third or subsequent offense and the second case involved an assault with a weapon,” Pabst said. “There were three that fell into the non-family violence category. In the first, we charged a whole slew of crimes including criminal endangerment, assault on a peace officer, DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest. In the second case, we charged an assault with a weapon. In that case, the defendant allegedly struck the victim in the back of the head with a five-to-ten-pound candle.”

In the third case, Pabst said they charged an assault and criminal trespass to vehicles. In that case, the defendant was at a gas station, allegedly spit in the face of an employee, and later was attempting to break into a vehicle.

“In the endangerment category, we charged one felony DUI, which is a fourth or subsequent offense,” Pabst said. “We also charged one criminal endangerment plus criminal mischief. In that case, the Sheriff’s Department responded to disturbance in Seeley Lake area. The defendant allegedly shot out some tires with a .223 ruger mini and one bullet allegedly punctured the gas tank.”

In the property crimes category, Pabst said they charged two theft of a motor vehicle cases and one shoplifting case.

“In the drug category, there were three new crimes in combination with other things,” Pabst said. “Finally, we charged one person with fugitive. The allegation there was that he was a fugitive out of the state of Washington and he was wanted for charges of domestic battery.”
