At around 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Missoula Police were called to a residence where drug use was reported. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The probation and parole officers requested assistance from the city police at a residence in the 1900 block of South 7th Street West,” said Welsh. “They had an adult male by the name of Calen Hengel in custody for a probation violation. They also informed the officers that they found evidence of drug use and drug paraphernalia.”

Welsh says Hengel now faces multiple charges.

“He was taken into custody and evidence was seized,” Welsh said. “He is currently looking at charges ranging from criminal possession of dangerous drugs, which appears to have been methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, as well as the original violation of his probation.”

According to Welsh, this is not the first drug crime Hengel has been charged with, he was already on probation for criminal possession of dangerous drugs from a previous incident.
