The Oxford game was different from the other poker games in Missoula. The Ox's table was the dealer's choice in the game. The choices were far more complicated than just a simple game of Texas Hold'em. They had old-west-style poker games to choose from. Games like 3 card stud, 7 card split, or the old school 5 card draw. I quickly learned that being good at poker is more than just knowing how to play Texas Hold'em.

A Montana poker player has found victory playing some old-west style poker at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

AJ Cummings of Bigfork, Montana recently won his first World Series of Poker bracelet. AJ was playing in the 22nd event in the series. The event was the $1,500 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw event. (In this game your goal is to make the worst hand. The lower cards 2 thru 7 are the best cards to have.)

The three-day tournament culminated in a heads-up battle between Cummings and final-day chip leader Yuichi Kanai. After an intense 90-minute duel, Cummings emerged victorious, with Kanai walking away with a handsome $95,981 for his runner-up finish.
