Despite almost a full inch of rain at the Missoula airport, forecaster for the National Weather Service Leane Allegretto says local rivers and streams face no danger of flooding at this time.

Allegretto says the cool temperatures have stopped snowmelt, which usually contributes the most to low level flooding. However, Allegretto says nearly 5 inches of snow have fallen in the Butte area since Friday. Her comments are below.
