Hurricane Irene hit many areas of the East Coast hard, while sparing other towns and cities. Unfortunately for former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach, the flooding that resulted from the massive storm destroyed his Middletown, N.J., mansion.

“I am numb, in shock and devastated to report that my home of 21 years, my house featured on ‘MTV Cribs,’ has been destroyed, condemned, and deemed uninhabitable due to the extreme flooding courtesy of Hurricane Irene,” reads a post on Bach’s Facebook page.

In addition to losing his house, the water claimed Skid Row master tapes, video, audio and concert recordings, and boxes of one-of-a-kind Skid Row memorabilia. Also gone is Bach’s collection of rare rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia, including Kiss gargoyles from the band’s 1979 tour and a rare Kiss pinball machine.

“All of this is lost now,” continues Bach. “We will salvage what we can of course. But how I wish there was a reason to do a box set or something before Hurricane Irene hit. Nobody cared. Now, it’s too late. Don’t know what you got till it’s gone, indeed.”

Bach recently went through a divorce settlement, ending his 18-year marriage to Maria Bierk, and writes that he “just could not let go of the only home [he] had ever known.” He now plans to relocate to Los Angeles to be with his new girlfriend, 25-year-old model Minnie Gupta.

“This has really taught me that the best things in life are indeed ‘free,”’ Bach continues. “What makes me happy is that my children & ex wife are safe . . . The only things that are making me smile today is cranking Black Veil Brides‘ ‘Set the World on Fire’ CD over and over again.”

Bach has a new solo album called ‘Kicking & Screamin’ coming out on Sept. 27. Click here to read our recent exclusive interview with the singer.
