The Prodigy Cancel Tour Dates Following Keith Flint’s Death
The Prodigy have canceled all their upcoming live shows following the death of vocalist Keith Flint. It took the group just one day to conclude they couldn’t tour without Flint, leaving the Prodigy’s future uncertain.
The heavy electronic band were scheduled to tour the U.S. for the first time in a decade in 2019. Ten shows were planned for May, including stops at the Welcome to Rockville, Epicenter, Sonic Temple and Chicago Open Air festivals.
“Following the tragic death of Keith Flint all forthcoming Prodigy shows will be cancelled with immediate effect,” the group tweeted.
Keith Flint was found dead in his Essex home on March 4 from an apparent suicide. Flint had struggled with mental health and addiction issues for many years before his death.
Many musicians have paid tribute to Flint, including PiL / Sex Pistols legend Johnny Rotten, who said to TMZ, "My heart is broken for him. [Flint] was a good friend of mine. But nobody loved him, and he was left alone, and he got destroyed. Why? Why do so many people in this industry be left alone?"
