Calling all snowboarders, skiers & lovers of the snow!  This is gonna be HUGE.

One of my all time favorite bands to "fall down a hill to" has got to be The Offspring. No strangers to the extreme sports scene, this band will even perform their own stunts. A few weeks ago I featured a vidiot pick from their DVD "Huck It", which had their guitarist, Noodles, enjoying some winter sports action...

I thought that running outside after a snowstorm was pretty crazy. And then I found out about the Frosters Anonymous phenomenon.

If you're still ignorant to the Frosting phenomenon, here's the short version.

I don't wanna give you a "Back in my day" speech. But it seems like "snow days" are rare occurences here in Montana. We are used to extreme weather. I feel like the bus drivers back in my public school days were as diligent as postmen. " Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds...

The hills of western Montana are getting slammed with snow. So much so, that it is increasing the avalanche danger. But that isn't gonna keep the die hard powder hounds from taking advantage of this crazy amount of snow. I have a serious case of the "POW POW" fever but have all ready run out of "sick days"...

MISSOULA COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED, school is canceled, it's officially a SNOOOOW DAAAAY!!  woo hoo!  Frenchtown, DeSmet, St. Joes, Loyola, Florence Carlton, Hamilton and Corvallis are also jumping on board, school is canceled.

As we continue to get pounded by snow. I got serious "POW POW" fever. So Im gonna set you up with another one of my favorite songs to ride too. The winter storm looks like it may let up a little before the weekend. Every Missoulian knows the weather here can change in a Montana minute. That could mean dangerous driving conditions for holiday travelers, and with lots of cars on the road this time of year, there is even more risk of an accident.

It's been an unusually dry December, but weather experts say this week's snowfall is just a preview of what's in store for Western Montana this winter.
