Chamerlin Rail Jam Rocked Missoula Over the Weekend – Check Out Our Slideshow and Videos
Missoula hosted its first Chamberlin Rail Jam over the weekend under sunshine and blue skies. While it seemed a little odd to be watching skiers and snowboarders make their way through snow on what felt like the first days of spring, it was an exciting event for all of those who came out to watch and compete.
About 50 snowboarders and skiers from the greater Western Montana area battled Friday for spots in Saturday’s finals. Only 10 snowboarders and 10 skiers advanced to the finals.
Shay Lee was the ultimate winner in the skier competition, followed by Lucas Walden in second place and Keith Forsyth in third. Nate Falconer took first place among the snowboarders, Dan Sanderguard took second and RJ Higgins finished in third place.
Both days’ events were held adjacent to Big Sky Brewing Company on a rail and snow park area constructed by Chamberlin Productions. Music followed each day’s competition, including the event’s headlining show by Asher Roth and Black Mask on Saturday night.
Chamberlin Rail Jam has become a widely-attended event in Bozeman, growing each year since its inception five years ago. The plan is to make Missoula’s Chamberlin Rail Jam an annual event as well.
