What Do You Think About Missoula's New Cellphone Ban?

The new cellphone-while-driving ban is now in effect in Missoula. People who are caught using a cellphone while driving will receive a warning until February 3, 2013. Beyond that date, tickets will be issued for anyone pulled over for being on his or her cellphone. We want to know what you think about the new ban.

Currently, one out of every three Americans is obese (or 35.6% to be precise) and the most recent expert projection claims that 42% of the country will be obese by the year 2030. Most of the studies done to track obesity are performed by the Center for Disease Control and are done by calling people and asking them to self report their weight and height. Of course, the whole idea of people accurately reporting their weight may seem laughable, but finding data like this isn’t as easy as it may sound.

Missoula made national news yet again on Wednesday, as CNN’s Erin Burnett-Out Front interviewed Mayor Jon Engen about the Justice Department’s Civil Rights investigation into sexual assaults on campus and in the city. Burnett seemed shocked by the fact that 80 sexual assaults had been reported in a three year span. Engen said that number is not unusual in a college town of Missoula’s size. He defended the Missoula Police force, but said there is always room for improvement.
